Each wing has ten stalls, two tack rooms and a hot-and-cold wash rack. You will be sharing a 14’x12’ tack room with only four other horse enthusiasts. In addition to the four indoor wash racks, there are dry-grooming stalls located in the barn. Also there are four more cold-water wash racks located outside the barn.
Safety and Security Pastures and Arenas Every pasture is fertilized throughout the year to keep the grass growing for your horse. All of our pastures are over-seeded in the fall with winter ryegrass to ensure that your horse will have green grass to eat even in the dead of winter. Our pastures are also irrigated for optimum growth during those hot, dry summer months. There three spacious arenas available for riding at the facility. Hunter ring 1 is 160' x 230 and is lighted. Hunter ring 2 is 160' x 210'. Dressage ring is 110' x 260'. There is plenty of room to work your horse without being cramped. They are irrigated to keep the dust to a minimum and regularly maintained to offer a consistent footing the horse can be confident in. Feeding Program In addition to quality feed, Star Ridge Stables offers superior hay. Timothy or Timothy/Orchard grass hay is fed to the horses. Alfalfa hay is also kept on hand for horses requiring a higher protein diet. Feeding the upper level hay has many benefits to your horse. The horse was originally designed to digest grasses not large quantities of grain. By offering higher quality hay less grain can be fed to the horse, which is actually healthier for the digestive system. | |
